Moore loves to portray himself as a Flint native. The truth of the matter is that he grew up in Davison, and attended Davison High (notice how in all his discussions of high school and his principal, he never names the school?

Davison is near Flint, but there the resemblance ends. Its median house value is twice that of Flint, which may explain why its black population is a miniscule 0.5%.

Here's a few photos I took when visiting Davison -- no, this is not exactly downtown Flint!

While we're at it -- there's an interesting webpage arguing that Moore swiped the idea for, and theme of, Roger & Me from local union activist Mike Westfall.
